Q:  Is Madden NFL 2002 for PlayStation 2 going to have online play capabilities? If not, when will that be included?
A:  No, we had to make a decision on online early, and Sony wasn't ready with their hardware, so there wasn't much of a decision. We will support online when there are enough modem/broadband adaptors sold.
Q:  Has there been any new motion-capture for the players? Will the receivers still make a large portion of their catches one-handed, or has that been expanded to include other types of catches, for instance?
A:  Yes. We shot another two weeks of motion-capture to create the new moves in the game. One-handed catches have been turned way down, and the users will see tons of new catches, wrap tackles and TD celebrations.
Q:  Regarding the versions for the XBox and the Nintendo platforms, how will they compare to the PS2 version? What sort of obstacles did you have to overcome in developing the game for these new platforms?
A:  They will be nearly identical, if not slightly better. Since they launch later in the year, both versions will have updated rosters to start. We plan to take advantage of the hard drive on Xbox as well as some new graphical touches, specular lighting, and new stadium technology. On GameCube we have similar graphical touches, like the new stadium technology and scuffs on helmets.
