- Adjust your pass sensitivity slider, (Settings --> In Game) to match your playing style. The higher the slider, the more effect you have on the pass with the D-pad (good for gamers who sit in the pocket). The lower the slider the less effect the D-pad has on your pass (good for gamers who like to scramble).
- Use defensive coverage audibles to put your players into a better position to cover their man (TRIANGLE, then X). This is very useful for linebackers assigned to slot receivers.
- On Defense, use the bump-and-run coverage if you are getting beat are short passing routes. To do this press TRIANGLE to call a coverage audible and SQUARE to bring up the defensive backs
- On Defense, if you take control of a linebacker or defensive back, make sure you know your responsibility. You do not want to blitz with your defender if you are suppose to cover a receiver, running back or tight end.
- On Defense, if you are in one-on-one coverage with no help, try tipping the pass (L1 or R1) instead of going for the interception (TRIANGLE).
- Use a balanced attack of running and passing offense to keep the defense guessing
- Play Action passes are usually more effective plays on short yardage downs, because the defense will probably be thinking run.
- Press Select to call a quick Timeout.
- Set your QB's feet before you throw -- it will increase the accuracy of the pass.
